Full Time Activities Co-ordinator required at New Luxury Care Home in Kettering.
Elm Bank is situated on the Northampton Road and is a luxury care home development that has won awards for its design. It is run by Northampton based Avery Healthcare.
OverviewTo contribute to the pleasant environment of the Home with a particular remit for involving the residents in a wide variety of activities designed to address a wide range of interests and varied limitations on physical and mental agility.

Reports to - Care Home Manager

Activities Co-ordinator Job DescriptionOrganise varied activities within the Home to cater for a variety of interests for small groups and large numbers of residents, including games, parties and entertainment, encouraging relatives and visitors to be involved.
Arrange trips and excursions with varied destinations and purposes to involve as many residents in activity outside the confines of the Home.
Undertake fundraising activity for the Residents Fund.
Participate as an active member of the Resident’s Committee.
Understand personal responsibilities in relation to the Health & Safety at Work legislation, fire and safety and evacuation procedures and is aware of the need to provide a safe and healthy environment for residents, particularly with regard to external activities.
Act accordingly towards residents and their visitors, respecting the dignity and individuality of each resident.
Contribute fully to team working, and is aware of the care staff routines necessary to provide continuity of service to residents.
PERSON SPECIFICATIONDemonstrate understanding of the role of social interaction plays in the general well being of people.
Previous involvement in voluntary or community activity and roles.
Knowledge of Health and Safety, particularly Moving and Handling techniques, and COSHH assessments.
Hold or work towards achieving NVQ Level 2 in Support Services in Healthcare.
SkillsExude enthusiasm, commitment and energy.
Demonstrate influencing and persuasive skills.
Display a positive and flexible aptitude to teamwork.
Demonstrate initiative and imagination.
Exhibit a caring and understanding attitude towards the elderly.
